e-Learning
Fiona Leteney has co-authored an article on the links between Knowledge Management and e-learning which has been published in the May edition of e-Learning age magazine.
For those involved in e-Learning for the past 5 years or so, the technology is now sorted and available ... or thereabouts! The talk of improvements tends to revolve around wider bandwidths which will improve the richness of the media and complexity of the animations and graphics. However this may still only achieve a shallow level of knowledge or skill transfer.

In Kirkpatrick terms we can all fill in the ‘happy sheets’ and pass the end of course quiz. But has our behaviour changed as a result of the learning and has the organisations bottom line been affected in terms of ROI? These age old questions are no different whether the learning is ‘e’ or not.

In a crisis situation will the individual have the competency, the capability and the confidence to tackle the job successfully? In this article we explore how the connection of e-learning with knowledge management and in particular social network systems could have a deeper effect. The synergy of the two could be pretty powerful and bring e-learning into its own.

E-Learning on it’s own is only the tip of the iceberg.
